The Okpelor Sowah Dinn Family has called for the immediate removal of Benjamin Kwame Danso, NDC Constituency Organizer for Krowor, from the Lands Commission Board, citing an alleged conflict of interest and serious misconduct.
Speaking at a press conference to counter one held last week by the Nungua Stool Lands, the family’s spokesperson, Mr. Clement Thompson, said Mr. Danso’s continued presence on the board undermines public trust. He disclosed that the family has petitioned the appropriate authorities and is appealing to the President and the leadership of the Lands Commission to take decisive action.
According to the family, individuals acting on behalf of the Nungua Stool Lands, allegedly led by Mr. Danso, have fraudulently misrepresented a Supreme Court judgment in Appeal No. J4/10/2019. They claim the judgment, which confirmed ownership of 62 acres to Topkings Enterprise, is being unlawfully manipulated to expand the land interest to 456 acres, encroaching on land belonging to the Okpelor Sowah Dinn Family.
The family insists that any survey or judgment plan purporting to allocate 456 acres to a company that previously acted as a guarantor for the Nungua Stool Lands under the same suit number is fraudulent, null, and void, and cannot override a Supreme Court ruling.
They further called on the Paramount Chief of Nungua to rein in individuals engaging in what they described as unlawful activities.
The Okpelor Sowah Dinn Family has therefore demanded an immediate investigation by the Ghana Police Service, the Attorney-General’s Department, and the Lands Commission, the reversal of all land records linking the judgment to the alleged 456 acres, and the criminal prosecution of all persons involved.
They also cautioned the public that any land transaction based on the purported 456-acre Supreme Court award is illegal and unsafe.
